Important notes

So your 3D print really fits when it matters.

Here you will find important notes on material, use, safety, custom orders and key points to consider before making an enquiry.

Worth knowing first

3D printing can do a great deal – we look together beforehand at what suits your idea.

So that your piece truly lives up to what you have in mind, we talk openly in advance about which material, which shape and which use make sense. The following points help with that.

Material

The right material for heat and load

Depending on the material, 3D-printed parts can warp in warmth, direct sun or under heavy load. PLA in particular is not intended for heat, car interiors in summer or hot dishwasher cycles. That is why SL Design increasingly uses PETG and ABS where more everyday suitability, temperature resistance or load-bearing durability makes sense. The right material is chosen according to use, appearance and the desired sturdiness.

Safety

Intended as décor – toys only by arrangement

Printed figures, décor and small models are decorative or everyday items as a rule. They are not toys unless this is expressly confirmed in the offer or by arrangement.

Food

Food contact only by arrangement

3D prints are not automatically suitable for food contact. Food contact must be expressly discussed in advance and only makes sense with a suitable material, a suitable surface and suitable use.

Function

We settle anything safety-critical together beforehand

Custom orders must not be used for safety-critical applications, for example load-bearing, medical, electrical or heavily loaded components, unless this has been expressly checked by a professional. If a part is to bear a functional load, we can talk it through and settle in advance which limits, choice of material and build make sense.

Businesses & orders

Working together towards the right solution

For business and custom orders we settle the quantity, area of use, material, colour, dimensions, delivery date and any requirements together. If some details are still missing, we work out the right solution step by step. For any logos, names, files or designs you provide, the client confirms that the necessary usage rights are in place.
